Queue Name

For AppleTalk printing, the queue name must be unique within its zone. If the queue name is the same as the name of an attached printer, users cannot print directly on that printer. If you change the name, users must select the new name before printing.

Enable Queuing

Select this option to enable queuing.
Enable AppleTalk (PAP): Select this checkbox to enable printing over AppleTalk.
Enable TCP/IP (LPD): Select this checkbox to enable printing over TCP/IP.
Advertise color printing: If this is selected, and the first printer attached to a queue supports color, a color printer icon appears with the queue in the Chooser.
Allow binary data: If you deselect this option, the queue will accept only ASCII data. Some older laser printers can't print binary data.
Place new jobs on hold: Selecting this places any new job on hold so that the administrator can audit the usage.

Enable Printing

Select this option to enable the print server to send jobs to the printer. This is normally enabled, but you might want to deselect it if you need to do some maintenance on the printers.

Click the "Print job while queuing" checkbox to allow the printer to begin printing jobs while they are being queued.

Print Cover Page

The cover page includes the user's name and the name of the file that was printed. You can choose not to print a cover page, or you can print a cover page before or after a job.
